#Bridgeport CT--On Thursday, February 8th the City of Bridgeport celebrated Black History Month at the Margaret Morton Government Center at 999 Broad Street with Our Legacy, Our Lives. The community came together to celebrate lives that had a positive impact in the community. The city also celebrated living legends in the town with proclamations to Reverend Ina Anderson, Julian Braxton, Deputy Fire Chief Lance Edwards, State Senator Edwin “Ed” Gomes, Pastor Mary Green, Judge William Holden, Laurayne Farrar James, Retired Fire Lieutenant Craig Kelly, Reverend Mary McBride-Lee, State Senator Marilyn Moore, City Councilman Ernest Newton, and Charles “Charlie” Tisdale.

Bridgeport News: Manhunt In The Westside

5:01pm--#Bridgeport Ct-- There is a manhunt in the Dewey/Lenox/Moutain Grove area.  Police had a short pursuit on Fairfield Avenue. Drugs were thrown out of the vehicle which was recovered.  The driver is in custody but the passenger who had a firearm is running through backyards in the area.   If you live in the area and see someone running around in your backyard (except the cops) call 911.   This news report is made possible by:

State Police UPDATE: On February 7, 2018 at approximately 00:26 a.m., troopers from Troop G - Bridgeport were conducting speed enforcement on I-95 southbound in the area of exit 40, Milford when they observed a black Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted to stop the Honda; however the operator increased speed and engaged troopers in pursuit. Troop G dispatch notified troopers that the Honda was reported stolen out of Ansonia. The Honda continued to traveling south on I-95, at times in excess of 120mph, before the operator eventually lost control on the exit 27A off-ramp in Bridgeport and struck the left side barrier. Bridgeport Student To Be Senator’s Aid

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that he has appointed Isaac Vargas, a junior at Central High School in Bridgeport, to serve as a U.S. Senate Page for the Spring 2018 program. Bridgeport News: 1 Arrested With Stolen Car

5:44pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police have one in custody with a stolen vehicle off exit 30 of I-95.  The stolen car was a Nissan stolen from Greenwich last night.  Police followed the car at a distance from Coleman Street onto I-95 northbound to exit 34, then southbound when the driver got off exit 30.  That is when the police lit their lights and the driver pulled over and took the driver into custody without incident.   This news report is made possible by:

Tonight’s Vehicle Fire

11:50pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Today's vehicle fire was on Fairfield Avenue near Albion Street.  A witness told me the car hit a tree in the road divider in front of Krausers a little over a half mile away before the car caught fire.  A person in the nearby store helped put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.  The fire department also used dry chemical extinguisher instead of water so there would be no freezing.   Liking our posts will let you see more of posts, you'll also get updates when we post them!
