Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport snow emergency is still in effect today, January 5, 2018 and until further notice to allow for continued citywide snow clean up and plow service. During the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted SNOW EMERGENCY streets and ADDITIONAL STREETS WILL BE POSTED to allow snow plow drivers to clear passages. Bridgeport Public Schools have announced that schools will be closed on Thursday, January 4, 2018. All City of Bridgeport public parks will be closed. 5:44pm-- #Bridgeport CT--Police said a man was shot at the intersection of State and Howard Avenue. He then fled towards Fairfield Avenue and collapsed feet away from the intersection in front of 798 Howard Avenue. Police spokesperson Av Harris said his wounds are not life-threatening and that they have one person in custody.
#Bridgeport, CT (December 29, 2017): Connecticut State Troopers arrested a Bridgeport man and seized weapons, narcotics and cash following a traffic stop. On December 28, 2017 at approximately 4:15 p.m., troopers were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on I-95 in the Bridgeport area when they observed a vehicle with a windshield violation. Troopers stopped the vehicle on Lafayette Street in Bridgeport. Upon stopping the vehicle, troopers saw the operator reach under the front seat. The operator, Rodney Crawley, was removed from the vehicle and patted down resulting in troopers finding him in possession of a loaded .380 caliber handgun.
