Bridgeport, CT –The City of Bridgeport today is alerting residents of the building maintenance and road closure that will temporarily close John Street from Friday, December 15th to Monday, December 18thapproximately 9:00 a.m. The purpose of this project is to replace the HVAC Units on the roof of the Margaret E. Morton Government Center. Due to building construction,  John Street will be closed between Lafayette and Broad Street. A detour route will be made available to offset the closure.   Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to stay alert and maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. Fairfield Dentist Gives Equipment To Enhance Dental Care for Tisdale Students

#Bridgeport CT-- Last week Dr. Dennis Ragoza along with State Senator Tony Hwang and members from the University of Bridgeport's (UB) Fones School of Dental Hygiene presented a panoramic x-ray machine valued over $23,000 to the Jettie S. Tisdale Middle School at 250 Hollister Avenue in Bridgeport.  Since 2007, (UB's) Fones School student-clinicians led by faculty have provided free dental hygiene care at the Tisdale School for more than 350 students per year.  The Panoramic x-ray unit provides a full X-ray of the jaw as opposed to individual films of teeth.  Senator Hwang said, "What is positive in Bridgeport impacts all of us in the surrounding towns".   Dr. Dennis Ragoza said “I was raised in Fairfield and always dreamed of returning home and starting…

Bridgeport News: Man Shot During Carjacking

UPDATE: #Bridgeport CT-- Just after 12:30 Sunday morning a man was carjacked of his gray Lexus on North Avenue near Clinton Avenue. The man was taken to Colorado Avenue near Beechwood Avenue where he was released and then shot in the back. About a half hour later Fairfield Police located the vehicle on the I-95 northbound exit ramp 23 unattended. K-9 from Bridgeport, Fairfield and State Police began tracking the Fairfield neighborhood off Grasmere Avenue. Bridgeport, CT – In anticipation of the pending snow fall due to impact Bridgeport on Saturday, December 9, 2017, Mayor Joe Ganim today is updating residents on the forecast effects for Bridgeport. Forecast The City of Bridgeport anticipates a significant snow fall starting early Saturday morning and continuing through the day, which is projected to produce as much as six inches of snow.  The Emergency Operation Center (EOC) will continue to monitor forecast updates. Since a Snow Emergency has not been declared, there are no parking bans.
