Bridgeport News: Several Displaced In Townhouse Fire

7:28pm--‪#‎Bridgeport‬ CT--Firefighters had to handle two calls at the same time, the first on at 80 Granfield Avenue and then this townhouse fire from about 62 to 76 Alanston Road (between Seaview and Connecticut Avenue). Firefighters had to bust down the doors of about 3 of the doors that I had seen. The fire apparently started in one of the apartments and then spread upward to the second and third floor and then through the attic. There were no reported injuries when I left the scene. At 8:27pm--#Firefighters were ordered to evacuate the building.

THE WORKPLACE RECEIVES $20,000 GRANT FROM NEWMAN’S OWN FOUNDATION

#BRIDGEPORT, CT - November 4, 2015 The WorkPlace has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation, the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Newman’s Own Foundation made the award to The WorkPlace. The Foundation awarded a total of $1.5 million in grants to 29 organizations that provide services to United States military men, women, veterans, and their families.
