Fairfield-Bridgeport News: People Trapped In Car With Live Wire

Fairfield Police UPDATE: On 07/17/2019 at approximately 5:16pm Fairfield Emergency Communications received a report of a large tree limb landing on a vehicle injuring the driver in front of 3595 Park Avenue, Fairfield. Officers responded to find Jarrod Marotto, DOB 08/26/1997 of Southington, unconscious in the driver seat. Jarrod was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff. Further investigation revealed that Jarrod was driving southbound on Park Avenue when a large limb from a Cottonwood tree was struck by lightning and fell striking the vehicle and Jarrod on the driver side. Fairfield-Bridgeport News: 10 Year Old Steals SUV

2019-07-15 @ 8:12pm--A person who parked at the Fairfield Metro Train Station reported that his car is missing after parking it there this morning.  A short time later Bridgeport Police dispatch calls received calls of a child driving a vehicle on Seaview Terrace, Ellsworth and Grove, Brewster and Bywater Lane and finally the vehicle being abandoned on Bywater Lane (off Brewster).  Fairfield Police dispatched their K-9 and Bridgeport Police apprehended a suspect matching an eyewitness description.  Police then conducted a line-up for the witness.  I contacted Bridgeport Police spokesperson and awaiting their response if the child was taken into custody to the youth bureau.  The stolen vehicle was recovered.

Fairfield News: Motorcyclist Goes Down Embankment

POLICE UPDATE: On Saturday July 13, 2019 at 9:57 pm, the Fairfield Police Dispatch Center received a call reporting a “Man Screaming for Help” in the area of Osborne Hill Road and Wormwood Road. Officers responded to the area to find a single vehicle motorcycle collision near 258 Osborne Hill Road. An initial investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Daniel Epstein of Fairfield, CT was operating a 1979 Honda CX-500C traveling west on Osborne Hill Road near Wormwood Road when he lost control of the motorcycle he was operating and left the roadway striking a stone wall.
