UPDATE: Fire is out, everyone safely out of the vehicles. 11:37pm--#Westport CT--#cttraffic-- A crash between a car and tractor-trailer I-95 southbound near exit 18. The car is fully engulfed in flames.

Fairfield News: One In Custody After Pursuit
Fairfield Police UPDATE: Hasan T. Fleming (1/19/94) of Hough Avenue, Bridgeport was arrested and charged with Interfering with a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Failure to Obey Officer Signal, Evading Responsibility, Failure to Drive Right, and Excessive Window Tint, after he failed to stop for an officer conducting a routine traffic stop in the area of Commerce Drive and Coolidge St. Fleming engaged officers in pursuit onto I-95 southbound and struck a citizen’s vehicle during the pursuit. Officers were able to take Fleming into custody at the I-95 southbound exit ramp for Mill Plain Rd. There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit. Fleming was later released on a $5000. Fairfield News: Shoplifter With Child In Car Flees
10:51am--#Bridgeport CT-- A male who shoplifted 3 toolkits from Home Depot fled in a car with a child inside. Police located and briefly pursued the car southbound on I-95 but broke off the pursuit when the noticed the child in the car and the heavy traffic on the highway. 7:33pm--#Fairfield CT-- Firefighters quick response kept a bedroom fire in the 200 block of Mill Hill Road from extending to other parts of the home. The fire marshal and building inspector were called to investigate.

9:27pm--#Fairfield CT-- Black Rock Turnpike at Commerce Drive was closed after a three-wheeled motorcycle and a pickup truck collided. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries.

#Fairfield CT-- The Fairfield 12U All-Stars' run in the Eastern Regionals came to an end last Thursday as they fell 3-1 to the Lower Sussex All-Stars from Delaware. Connecticut went out to a 1-0 team and again threatened to put runs on the board in the 3rd when Delaware turned in a bang-bang double play. Anna Gedacht went the distance scattering 12 hits to keep the game close and Elena Ohe turned in the defensive gem of the year, landing herself atop the Sports Center top 10 plays on Thursday night. The team of 11-12-year-olds had the best run of any Fairfield team dating back to 2012. They finish the postseason with an impressive 12-2 record.
