UPDATE: Fairfield Police Press Release: On 6/24/2016, at 1:30 PM, a Robbery was reported at CVS Pharmacy, 1968 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT. A white male wearing a black shirt, and baseball hat, approached the pharmacy and demanded Oxycodone indicating if they did not comply, someone would get hurt. The subject fled the CVS store with a large quantity of Oxycodone pills. The Fairfield Police is asking assistance in identifying the below pictured suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at 203-254- 4840 or text your tip anonymously to 274637.
1:30pmish–The CVS at 1968 Black Rock Turnpike was robbed of drugs. A white male wearing all black entered the store in the pharmacy area and demanded oxycodone and other narcotics Fairfield Police Deputy Chief Chris Lyddy told me. He did not show a weapon but one was implied threatening harm to the employees. He fled on foot and is still at large despite a track from K-9.
UPDATE: UPDATE: Deputy Chief Lyddy told me that one person out of four was arrested.
1:19am–#Fairfield Connecticut–Police locate suspects looking in cars at the Mercedes Dealership on Commerce Drive and a foot pursuit ensues. The suspects ran onto the railroad tracks towards Bridgeport. The police activity on the tracks caused train traffic to come to a stop. Police had boxed in their car that had the wrong plates (misuse) on it. The manhunt is now in the Scofield Avenue area of Bridgeport. K-9 and State Police are assisting.
2:21pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– I’m sad to report the kayaker missing from Seaside Park on June 13th has washed up ashore in the 900 block of Fairfield Beach Road. Police have not released the man’s name pending notification of next of kin. Two young girls found the body. City of Bridgeport spokesman Av Harris confirmed it was a University of Bridgeport student. The US Coast Guard, as well as Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford and Suffolk County conducted a search for the man for almost two days. He was not wearing a life jacket when he went down that windy day.
#Fairfield Connecticut–6/22/2016– Wednesday the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund presented checks to their scholarship winners.
In addition to the 18 scholarships given out internally to our children we also have awarded $4,000.00 at our public High schools. The high school awards are being given out on 6/15/16 on awards night at the High school.
The Fairfield Police scholarship fund was started in 2014 by Lt. Keith Broderick as a way to help
reduce the high cost of college for the children of our police officers. The fund has grown
tremendously in the last two years and every officer in the department contributes every year
toward the fund.
There are also many fundraisers that take place throughout the year that benefit the fund. This
year two high school students each received 1000.00 dollars toward their education.
