Fairfield News: These Boots Were Made For Walking……

#Fairfield CT--Over the weekend happenings--   Mark Turlis of 1033 Reef Road went into Bob's Stores on Post Road, took off his shoes, opened a box of boots and allegedly swapped them, walking out of the store.  Loss prevention apprehended him at the door with the $210 boots on his feet.  He was charge with 6th degree larceny.   Jack Opalinski of 1660 Bronson Road went into Whole Foods on Grasmere Avenue and attempted to allegedly stuff merchandise worth $74.18 down his coat.  He too is charged with 6th degree larceny.   This report made possible by:

Fairfield News: Filmmaker Film Screening

#Fairfield, CT--There will be a Fairfield Filmmaker Film Screening at the Fairfield Public Library on Wednesday, October 14. Fairfield resident, Brean Cunningham (co- director) will introduce the film, Dogs on the Inside, at 7 pm in the Rotary Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.   Dogs on the Inside follows the relationships between abused stray dogs and prison inmates working towards a second chance at a better life. In an attempt to re-build their confidence and prepare for a new life outside, these prisoners must first learn to handle and care for a group of neglected strays.   Brean Cunningham is a documentary filmmaker and producer (Cheer). Fairfield Police Make Drug Bust

  A traffic stop lead to an arrest at  operator was stopped in his car at about 6pm in front of the  Pumpkin Patch Preschool is located nearby on the corner of Grasmere and Kings Highway Cutoff.  Arrest  was Avellino, Christian (3/26/67) for:  Possession of Cocaine (15 small bags)  Possession with Intent to Sell  Possession within 1500’ of school  Weapons in a M/V (blackjack) K-9 responded to further search the vehicle and located and additional bags of Cocaine (included in total) and $600+ was seized as proceeds of admitted narcotic sales.  Avellino also has an outstanding domestic violence warrant ($20,000 bond) held by Bridgeport Police.  He was held on $10,000 bond.

Fairfield News: School Custodian Busted On Narcotics Charges

On 9/28/2015, the Principal of Mill Hill School, requested assistance from the Police School Safety Unit regarding possible drugs being possessed by a school custodian.  During the investigation, officers seized a small amount of marijuana, two small containers which contained a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized from a vehicle parked in the parking lot.  The custodian for the elementary school was subsequently arrested and  charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession  Near a School, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Anthony J. Piccolo, age 48, of Fairfield, was released on a written promise to appear in court on 10/7/2015.   This report made possible by:
