3:49pm--#Fairfield CT-- A 2 year old girl had some minor bruising after getting her hand caught in the gate at the Ferris Wheel at the Assumption Carnival on Stratfield Avenue. She is "coming round" now.......medical treatment refused. This report made possible by.
12:00am--#Fairfield CT--#Black Rock CT--Police nab a person wanted in car break in's catching him after a brief foot pursuit behind Michael Gennaro's Steakhouse at 238 Post Road. The suspect was brought down after being tazed. Sorry, this was the best photograph I was able get as the sergeant directed the patrol officer to block the scene with his police cruiser. The suspect was transport to St. Vincent's Hospital to be treated for injuries prior to booking. This may be connected to a break in at Lexus Pre-Owned vehicles on Commerce Drive. I know the sergeant wasn't talking and the Shift Commander was on the road so I'll check with Lt. Perez tomorrow.

From the Desk of First Selectman Tetreau (Press Release) Let me first say that on behalf of the Town, I am in active communication with both GE and the Governor’s office and have been ever since GE’s announcement that it is considering leaving the State. Here is what I have accomplished so far: I have been able to keep the communication flowing between GE and the State while the evaluation is proceeding. There was a lot of emotion initially. First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced that on August 31, 2015 the Fairfield Fire Commission unanimously voted to appoint Denis McCarthy as Fairfield’s new Fire Chief, effective October 1, 2015.
