12:56am--#Fairfield CT--Police have one in custody but still looking for one suspect in the Reef Road, Ruane, Nichols Street area after a brief foot pursuit.  The person they have in custody had a bag full of GPS units.  Norwalk is on the way with a K-9.  Police now say they are actually looking for 5 or 6 more males. Fairfield News: Appraisers, Not Scam

12:19pm--#Fairfield CT--A homeowner on Morehouse Lane called the fire chief's office to inquire if a  fire marshal was investigating on their street, a woman in uniform was in the homeowner's yard taking measurements .  The chief's office said no and called police to investigate.  I called Lieutenant Jim Perez of the Fairfield Police Department for follow up.  Perez said scammers often will show up in fake uniforms to falsely gain the authority  confidence of homeowners. As Perez and I were talking on the phone it was discovered that the company called Vision Appraisal was legitimately in the area appraising homes. Fairfield News: Bar Fight Ends With Police Pursuit

1:01am--#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Police were called to Bill's Crossroads Cafe at 12 Tunxis Hill Road for a fight.  Police arrived and then called firefighters and EMS for a facial laceration which looked like a punch to the left side of the man's mouth.  A short time later an patrol officer called out a foot pursuit for the suspect, he was taken into custody a short time later two blocks away on Brookfield Avenue.  The victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries. Ribbon Cutting At Stan’s Jamaican Kitchen

Today was Stan's Jamaican Kitchen's official ribbon  cutting.  Located at 16 Tunxis Hill Road (next to DeSantie Tire) near the Bridgeport town line on North Avenue.  Stan's Jamaican Kitchen is Fairfield's only Jamaican restaurant.  I'm yet to try it with my family but a couple of my Facebook friends have already said they have the best oxtail anywhere.  Karen Gordon is the owner and has named it Stan''s in honor of her father.  They are open 11am to 8pm, and take out is their main business although there is a counter for eating in.
