It you ignored that 860 phone call like I did, here is what it said: The Town of Fairfield’s Fire, Police and Public Works departments are working to respond to hazardous conditions; wires and downed trees, closed roads and damaged structures. There are hundreds of locations with trees and wires in roadways. As of 5:30pm Tuesday afternoon 63% of UI customers in Fairfield are without power. Residents are advised for stay off the roads to allow for emergency response and cleanup efforts. Please Dial 911 for Emergencies only! We are working closely with UI to respond to hazardous locations and begin power restoration. There are currently 3 UI crews working in town. Residents without power should report those outages…
Fairfield News: Tenant Takes Landlord’s Items, Leaves Her Daughter

Water Rescue
2020-08-01@8:11pm--#Fairfield CT-- A homeowner on Fairfield Beach Road saw flares east of the Penfield Lighthouse and called Fairfield Emergency Communications (911). Firefighters were dispatched on their fireboat and discovered a boat had run up on the reef. Three people were rescued and the vessel is being towed to Captian's Cove Marina. Work At Home
We've all heard that people are working from home since the COVID pandemic. And we've heard on individual social media posts that New York is a ghost town on social media. I didn't realize quite how many are either not working or working from home when I drove to the train station at downtown Fairfield. This photo was taken at ten minutes afternoon on a Tuesday. This place would normally be packed with cars as well as cars parked on the side streets. This put things into perspective for me. I'm sure if you commute from here you are as shocked as I.
