STATE POLICE “STUFF A CRUISER HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE”

Everyday Connecticut State Troopers encounter children in need. Many of these children would not wake up Christmas morning with a smile if it were not for the generosity of the people of Connecticut. On Saturday, December 13, 2014 between 10a.m. and 5 p.m. off duty Connecticut State Troopers from Troop G will personally be on hand to collect new unwrapped toys at Walmart located at 150 Barnum Aveune Cutoff Stratford, Connecticut. The new (unwrapped) toys all will be distributed to local Social Services agencies.

Milford News: Gas Leak at the Inn……Again

3:20pm--#Milford CT--Firefighters are at the Hampton Inn at  129 Plains Road with a gas leak near the laundry room.  They have readings of 10 parts per million and now a fire alarm has been activated.  Gas company on the way.  This is the second time in a couple months they have been called to the same location for a gas leak. Swim Coach In Deep Water Texting 13 Year Old Girl

UPDATE: (Bridgeport Police Report)-- A swim coach was arrested Wednesday for sending inappropriate text messages to a 13-year-old member of the swim team for which he works. Police Officer Bobby Jones responded Wednesday to a recreation facility at 400 University Ave.  on a report that the suspect, Alan Marcel, 28, of Norwalk, had sent text messages with sexual content to one of his swimmers. The texts were discovered on the girl’s phone by the victim’s mother, who alerted a member of the board of directors from the swim club. Marcel is an instructor with the club. Police reviewed the texts and observed texts from the suspect to the victim that were explicitly sexual. Marcel was arrested for risk of injury to…

Devon Rotary Delivers Dictionaries to Milford Third Graders

#MILFORD, CT – The Devon Rotary Club continued its annual tradition of helping make smarter students in Milford.  Devon Rotary Club members John Bergin, Scott Moulton, Dean Parrott, Ann Brignola, Greyson Schwing and Bob Morelli recently hand-delivered brand new dictionaries to third graders at Meadowside, Pumpkin Delight, and St Gabriel School Elementary schools. At Meadowside and Pumpkin Delight, Principals Gail Krois and Carrie Keramis joined in deliveries to each of the classrooms, sharing enthusiastic introductions along the way. Fairfield News: Substance in Gould Manor Pond

#Fairfield CT--If you have driven by Gould Manor on Holland Road and saw the firetruck the the firefighters have been trying to contain a very large green substance in the catch basins and pond.  Suzanne, a concerned citizen/neighbor spotted the spill earlier in the day and was mad thinking someone poured anti-freeze into the waterways.   She called Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) who in turned called the Fairfield Firefighters.  Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola coordinated efforts to contain the substance with booms.  The substance may also be a dye that was used to test sewer systems.  I saw firefighters collecting samples before I left.  Special thanks to Suzanne for providing these pictures.
