Westport CT— On Saturday October 11,2014 at 7:10 PM Westport Police responded to The Longshore Inn on a report that a male had taken a bird cage containing an undetermined amount of wedding cards from a newlywed couples wedding reception.   The male who posed as a guest of the reception or hotel was observed loitering in the lobby area of the inn, talking on the phone, eventually grabbing the birdcage containing the cards and fleeing on foot from the Inn. Police set up a perimeter on the Longshore property and conducted a thorough search of the grounds, with the assistance of a Norwalk Police K-9. 6:44am--An attempted traffic stop at Post Road West and Kings Highway turned into a pursuit into Norwalk on Strawberry Hill where 3 suspects fled on foot.  There were 4 in the car.  One remained in the car and police quickly apprehended him.  Police have 3 in custody and K-9 is now tracking the 4th.
