#Milford CT--On November 29, 2022, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. The victim was following behind the offending vehicle, who had not stopped after the accident. The vehicle eventually stopped in the lot of 1061 Boston Post Road. When officers approached the vehicle, both the driver and passenger were passed out sleeping. After a significant effort to wake the males, they finally regained consciousness. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver, Didier Salas, was intoxicated. He struggled with officers when they were attempting to detain him. After a significant struggle, he was handcuffed and placed under the arrest. State police report that the car crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was stationary. Brian Lambert, 63 of West Haven died from his injuries. #Milford CT-- On November 21, 2022, officers spoke to the victim who stated that all 4 tires on their vehicle were slashed while it was parked at 252 Depot Road. They stated that Jerry Ramos had threatened their boyfriend that morning and then proceeded to go 252 Depot Road and slash their tires. During the investigation, Ramos was identified as the person who had slashed the tires on the car, resulting in $1,500 worth of damage. On November 15, 2022, officers were dispatched to a Wheelers Farm Road address for an unwanted person complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that their stepfather was intoxicated and yelling at them. Scott Kowalski of Milford was using racial and homophobic slurs and was threatening to assault them. Kowlaski was charged accordingly. His bond was set at $25,000. Milford CT-- On November 14, 2022, the Milford Police Department working with the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program (TPEP) conducted unannounced compliance inspections of establishments that sell tobacco products and/or electronic cigarettes. The inspections were performed in an effort to determine compliance with state laws concerning the prohibition of the sale of e-cigarettes and/or tobacco products to youth under the age of 21. Retailers are required by state law to inspect the photo ID of anyone who appears under the age of 30 before selling a tobacco product or electronic cigarette.
