#Stratford To Move On Shakespeare Committee

STRATFORD – Following the devastating fire which consumed the historical American Shakespeare Festival Theater in Stratford last Sunday, town officials are announcing there will soon be a committee of citizens appointed to advise on the direction the town should take with the property the theater was located on.  Details on the appointment of that committee will be available in the coming days.   “We envision this new committee made up of concerned Stratford residents will facilitate the start of the important public conversation of where we go now with the Shakespeare property following this incredible fire,” said Mayor Laura Hoydick.  “We are affirming our commitment that this property will continue to be used for the performing arts, entertainment and recreation for the…

Stratford’s Shakespeare Theater Burns To The Ground

12:38am--#Stratford CT-- Just after 12:30 Saturday night firefighters started receiving calls for a fire at the Shakespeare Theater on Elm Street.  As firefighters arrived the fire was already an inferno and they called for a defensive operation, that is no firefighters inside the structure.  The immediately set up a collapse zone where they thought the building would come down.  Surrounding towns sent in personnel and equipment to battle the blaze.  By 2am the building completely burned down.  The embers started many brush fires in the nearby marshes.  Remarkably, there were no reported injuries. Stratford News: Domestic Arrest Leads To Other Charges

Christopher Fulton age 52 of Stratford was arrested following a domestic dispute at his residence. During the incident, Fulton verbally argued with his girlfriend. After the argument became physical Fulton made statements that he was going to kill his girlfriend and her cat. The female victim was able to lock herself in a room and call for police assistance. Fulton who had fled the scene prior to police arrival was arrested in Fairfield with the assistance of the Fairfield Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident.  A firearm and ammunition were seized by officers at the residence. Fulton was held on a $50,000 dollar bond which he was able to post and he was scheduled to appear in…

The Stratford Police Department is investigating a report of a missing juvenile, Andrea Dixon, age 17. Dixon was last seen on 11-23-2018 at 11 Mount Vernon Avenue in Mount Vernon, NY where she was staying with a friend. Dixon has ties to the Bronx and is reported to have a personality disorder.
