#Trumbull CT– On Thursday, February 20, Trumbull Police detectives conducted a warrant sweep to serve outstanding arrest warrants on local criminals in the area, which resulted in four (4) arrests and the recovery of a stolen car.
Detectives coordinated efforts with other local police agencies to track down individuals who have not been held accountable for criminal incidents that they had been involved in, and during this time, a recently stolen vehicle was recovered.
During the arrest warrant sweep, Trumbull detectives located a vehicle in Bridgeport that had been stolen the night before from LA Fitness, at the Westfield Trumbull Mall. The vehicle was subsequently stopped near the intersection of Chopsey Hill Rd. and Reservoir Ave., where the operator, Elijah Watkins, age 20, of Bridgeport was arrested. Watkins was transported to Trumbull Police Headquarters and was charged with Larceny in the second degree. He was held on a $10,000 bond, and given a court date of March 2, 2020 at Bridgeport Superior Court.

Anthony Flores, age 21, of Bridgeport was arrested at his home on Taft Ave. He was transported to Trumbull Police Headquarters and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief. Flores was involved in a recent case where an office building on Silver Lane was vandalized, which resulted in $4,000 worth of damage. Flores was held on a $4,000 bond and given a court date of March 2, 2020, at Bridgeport Superior Court.
Daniel Reyes, age 20, of Bridgeport, later turned himself in to Trumbull Police where he was also arrested and charged for his involvement in the same vandalism incident that took place on Silver Lane in Trumbull. Reyes was charged with Criminal Mischief in the first degree, held on a $4,000 bond, and given a court date of March 2, 2020 at Bridgeport Superior Court.
Roberto Rodriguez, age 55, of Bridgeport also turned himself in to Trumbull Police after learning that detectives were searching for him. Rodriguez was charged with Sexual Assault in the fourth degree, Unlawful Restraint, and Disorderly conduct for an incident where Rodriguez had assaulted a female resident while he was at the home to perform plumbing repair work. Rodriguez was held on a $30,000 bond and given a court date of March 3, 2020, at Bridgeport Superior Court.
Police periodically seek to locate offenders who fail to respond to charges brought by arrest warrant or failure to appear in court when obligated to do so.

A 14-year-old Bridgeport teen was arrested Sunday afternoon, January 26, following his involvement in two robberies at the Westfield Trumbull Mall. The teen was identified as the suspect in two separate incidents where cellphones were snatched from mall shoppers and he was subsequently charged with robbery and other related charges.
At about 5:30 p.m., on January 25th, the 14-year-old teen, along with his 17-year-old brother and other unidentified teens, grabbed a cellphone from the hands of a teenaged girl at the Westfield Trumbull Mall, before they fled the area. The two brothers were later apprehended by police, but the other teens escaped and were not identified. Both teen brothers were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 3rd degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 2nd degree and were released to their mother (as required by juvenile protocol) on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on February 3, 2020.
The following day, on January 26th, at about 1:30 p.m., the same 14-year-old teen entered the Target store with another unidentified male and grabbed an iPhone from the hands of a female patron before running out of the store. Security camera footage of the incident captured the suspect’s image and aided in the identification of the same juvenile involved in the earlier theft. He was charged with Robbery 3rd degree, Larceny 2nd degree, and Criminal Trespass 2 nd degree, and again released to the custody of his mother on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on February 3, 2020. No one was injured in the two incidents.

#Trumbull CT–On Monday, January 6, 2020, Trumbull Police promoted two (2) officers to ranking positions in their department. Brian Falkenstein and Robert Harry, who are both military service veterans, were promoted to the rank of lieutenant and sergeant, respectively, in a brief ceremony hosted by officials at Town Hall.
Falkenstein, most recently served as a detective sergeant and has been with Trumbull’s police force for more than thirteen (13) years. His previous assignments included a term at Trumbull High School as a School Resource Officer (SRO). In addition to working in the Patrol Division as a Field Training Officer and later, as a Patrol sergeant, he has held additional positions with the department’s Honor Guard and regional Emergency Response Team. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Post University. Prior to joining Trumbull Police, Falkenstein served for nine (9) years with the U.S. Marine Corps, working on Communications and attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Robert Harry was most recently assigned as an investigator with the department’s Traffic Division and has been a Trumbull officer for over twelve (12) years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations from Champlain College. Harry previously served four (4) years in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Ranger Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment and was deployed on several tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Both officers are expected to take on new assignments in the Patrol Division, with Lieutenant Falkenstein as a shift commander and Sergeant Harry as a shift supervisor. The Trumbull Police Department currently has an authorized force of eighty-one (81) officers, but is working to fill five (5) vacant positions to attain a full staff.
