The Westport Fire Department was called to a loud “hissing” noise on Jesup Green, which is located on Jesup Rd in front of the Westport Library. The fire department responded with two engines and the shift commander. The rescue company was clearing off of another call in the area and responded as well. The first arriving fire unit reported a high-pressure gas line had been cut. It was discovered that a tent crew had allegedly struck the line while setting up tents for an event this past weekend. The leak did not become evident until the company returned to remove the large tent stake. Westport Fire deployed a protective hose line and evacuated the surrounding buildings. 12:33pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are checking to see if a medical condition cause a middle aged woman to clip 3 trees in the median before crashing into a fourth at Park Avenue at Beach Place (not to be confused with Beach Street and Park Street on the East Side). The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

#Bridgeport CT--For Bridgeport Police Training Academy Instructor Officer Kateema Riettie thought it was just another two-mile run with recruits, this time to the police department at 300 Congress Street. This time, however, she was greeted by Chief Of Police AJ Perez. Mayor Joesph Ganim arrived with a plaque in hand. Little did Riettie know that the department and mayor were presenting her with a plaque praising here recent athletic accomplishments like competing in the World Athletic Cup in London last July and participating in the Central American Caribbean games in Columbia late July and early this August. Chief Perez encouraged the recruits to follow in her footsteps.
