2022-01-18@12:40pm--#Fairfield CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- Two kayakers overturned while in the channel at St. Mary's By The Sea and Fairfield's Jennings Beach. The two let go of their kayaks and clung to the channel marker. Both Bridgeport and Fairfield responded to the rescue with Fairfield rescuing the two and taken to the Fairfield Marina to an awaiting ambulance. The air temperature was 37 degrees with very gusty winds.

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont announced that his administration, working in cooperation with the Office of Attorney General William Tong, has reached an agreement with Disability Rights Connecticut and Connecticut Legal Rights Project regarding the state’s ongoing distribution of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests and N95 masks. Under the agreement, the Connecticut Department of Public Health is issuing revised guidance to towns and cities on the distribution of tests and masks. This updated guidance includes instructions on the prioritization of vulnerable populations, including those who live in congregate housing and those who have physical, mental, or intellectual or other developmental disabilities. Police UPDATE: The party shot in Bridgeport last night has been identified as 28-year-old Yahmad S. Roundtree of Bethany Connecticut. On January 16, 2022 at approximately 10:32 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received reports of shots fired in the area of the Grill II Jamaican restaurant located at 1020 Broad Street. Police located a victim on the ramp of the Margaret E Morton Government Center parking garage (State Street) suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding officers rendered first aid and called medics to the scene. The victim was quickly transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition. That person has been identified as a 28-year-old Bethany Connecticut man. The Bridgeport Detective Bureau has responded and is investigating. …
