On October 9. 2024, the Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Dupre, age 50, of Ansonia after an overdose death investigation. During the investigation by Detective Jon Troesser, he was able to link Dupre to the sale of narcotics to the 24 year old female victim who overdosed in October of 2023. Michael Dupre was charged with Misrepresentation of a Controlled Substance and Sale of Narcotics. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and was presented today, 10/10/2024, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.
The Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Bernaud, age 27, of Ansonia for his involvement in a child pornography investigation. Bernaud turned himself in after a warrant was obtained following a lengthy investigation by Detective Mark Clifford. Bernaud was charged with Possession of Child Pornography, two counts of Enticing a Minor by Computer, and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and will be presented today, 10/9/2024, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.

This morning, 9/19/2024, at about 6:40 A.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint about a threat to the Ansonia Public Schools posted on social media. The Ansonia Board of Education was notified and a decision was made to cancel school. Our Patrol Division and Detective Bureau were able to interview several potential witnesses. During the interview process a 13 year-old female juvenile confessed to making the post and she was arrested. The juvenile was referred to Juvenile Court for Threatening First Degree and Breach of Peace Second Degree. Chief Williams commends the actions of the Ansonia Police Department’s Patrol Division and Detective Bureau for their quick response and coordinated effort to secure the schools and investigate the threat. A Resident of Ojibwa Trail/Road in Shelton had quite the moo-ving experience just now when police were called to investigate a a woman, dressed as a cow, was spotted selling milk door-to-door. The unusual vendor caught the eye of concerned neighbors, who dialed authorities after hearing the udderly strange sales pitch. While no laws were broken, authorities gave her a stern warning. No charges were filed, but it's safe to say this cow-tastrophe was a bum-steer according to unconfirmed radio reports. Stew Leonard was NOT available for comment.
