Ansonia News: Shooting Arrest

#Ansonia CT-- #Milford CT--On January 27, 2022 Jermaine Smalls was arrested by warrant during a court appearance at Milford Superior Court for his involvement in the December 15, 2021 shooting on Fourth Street. Smalls was charged with Criminal Attempt at Murder, Assault First Degree and Reckless Endangerment First Degree. He was arraigned, held a $1,000,000.00 bond and his next court date is March 31, 2022. UPDATE: The deceased in the shooting incident at the Marriott Residence Inn in Shelton has been identified as 23 year old Ivan Whyte of Bridgeport. Officers and detectives have been working around the clock on this investigation.  #Shelton CT--On 6-12-21 at approximately 11:33pm, Shelton Police and EMS responded to 1001Bridgeport Ave, the Marriott Residence Inn, on a report that a male was shot and was inthe parking lot. Ansonia News: Armed Robbery

On October 14, 2020 at 10:35 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of an armed robbery at the Wakelee Mart, 192 Wakelee Avenue. Two males, both armed with handguns entered the store and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the register. Several hundred dollars were taken during the robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the suspects struck the employee in the head. The employee suffered a minor injury and declined medical attention. The suspects are described as black males both over six feet tall, one heavy set and the other had a slender build. Ansonia News: 2 Shot Overnight

Police UPDATE: On October 3, 2020 at about 2:00 A.M., officers on patrol on Main Street in the area of Water Street heard several gunshots coming from the area of West Main Street. When officers responded to the area, they found a male in the municipal parking lot who had been shot. Officers rendered medical aid until an ambulance arrived and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The male, a 26-year-old Ansonia resident, was shot multiple times in the upper body and is currently listed in serious but stable condition. Shelton News: Death Investigation- Bodies Identified

Shelton CT--On 09/12/2020 at approximately 3:30 PM the Shelton Police Department responded to 88 Sorghum Rd. to conduct a welfare check of the residents. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals deceased inside the residence Officers identified the deceased as Gale P. Lupe, age 79, and her son Michael J. Kramer, age 59. Both Lupe and Kramer were the only occupants of the residence. The Shelton Police Department is currently investigating the incident with the assistance of the CT State Police Major Crime Central District, and the Office of the State’s Attorney Ansonia- Milford Judicial District. Ansonia News: Homicide Not Car Accident

2020-08-30@4:50pm--#Ansonia CT--The Derby Police Department notified the Ansonia Police Department of an evading motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the area of Coe Lane and North Coe Lane.  When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 20-year-old female suffering from upper-body injuries that were not consistent with a motor vehicle accident but rather an assault. The female was transported to Griffin Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The name of the victim will be released once the next of kin has been notified of her death. The Ansonia Police Department is currently working with the State of Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
