Free Flu Shots

The Naugatuck Valley Health District is hosting a free public flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9-11AM at the NVHD office located at 98 Bank Street, Seymour, CT 06483. This clinic is open to anyone, regardless of insurance status, although if individuals have eligible insurance, they should bring their cards. Regular and high-dose (recommended for those aged 65 and older) vaccines are available. No appointments are necessary. The clinic will be supported by NVHD staff, Naugatuck Valley Medical Reserve Corps volunteers, and volunteer Nurses from Griffin Hospital’s Valley Parish Nurses. 1:25pm--Two calls for Assumption Church in two different towns at the same time. Firefighters called for smoke in a building at Assumption Church, Westport on Riverside Drive for smoke in the building. Then, a call from Assumption Church at North Cliff Street for an activated fire alarm. Westport's turned out to be an item smoldering in the furnace, contained in the furnace. Shelton News: 2 Year Old Drowns

11:00AMish--#Shelton CT-- On 10/08/2018 at approximately 11:00 AM the Shelton Police Department received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive two-year-old boy. The boy was discovered in the swimming pool by a relative on Copper Penny Lane where he was staying for the day. Shelton Police and EMS responded to the scene and the boy was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Initial investigation by Shelton Detectives revealed the boy wondered outside from the house and fell in the pool before he was discovered by a relative, who was babysitting him for the day. The boy resided in Shelton with his parents. The case remains under investigation. (Shelton Police Press Release)
