Monroe News: Motorcycle and SUV Collide

2019-10-24@6:54pm–#Monroe CT–Captain Keith White  of the Monroe Fire Department said a motorcycle, with a driver and a passenger, were headed south on Route 111 by Elm Street when a Jeep Grand Cherokee tried to turn left into the Monroe Plaza Shopping Center and hit the motorcycle. The names of the motorcycle driver and its passenger have not yet been released.

 

Bridgeport News: Child Falls From Tisdale School

2019-10-24@5:42pm–#Bridgeport CT– A 14 year old was playing on the playground at Tisdale School. He apparently found a ladder that accessed the roof area, and attempted to climb it and fell about 12’ with the ladder falling on him . He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. His parents were notified.

Bridgeport News: Stolen Vehicle Arrests After Foot Pursuit

2019-10-24@4:00pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police locate a stolen vehicle which pulled over and a foot pursuit ensued on Trumbull Avenue near Voight Avenue.  It sounds like 4 out of 5 that fled were apprehended.

Bridgeport News: Gas Line Rupture

Update: The ruptured line was located at the Anchorage Condominiums.

 

2019-10-24@10:35am–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters on the way 325 Grovers Avenue for a gas line rupture but firefighters have a zero reading on their meters right now.  They are now on Brewster Street where there is a trench dug and again no readings.

Fairfield News: Health Department Update On Contaminated Soil

As part of the Town’s continuing efforts to keep residents informed and updated on the safety of our parks, school grounds and fields, the Health Department is issuing the following update:

  • Remediation is underway at Gould Manor Park.  This work should be completed this week.  Plans are being finalized for remediation at Burroughs Field.
  • The next round of testing for sites that received aggregate fill will begin later this week.
  • The State Department of Public Health has provided the Town with guidance and recommendations based upon a recreational standard for exposure to soils.
