#Westport CT--On 08/19/2018 at approximately 10:00am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Post Road East. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of North Providence, Rhode Island. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the operator was identified as Adam Sipes, 34, of Bridgeport, CT. Officers learned the vehicle was an overdue rental, which was scheduled to be returned by 07/19/2018. As of 08/03/2018, Sipes had not returned the vehicle, nor had he made additional payments to extend the rental agreement. The rental company then reported the vehicle as stolen to the North Providence Police Department. Sipes was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where he was charged with 53a-122 Larceny 1 st Motor Vehicle Theft. …
10:36pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A pedestrian was hit by a car on Oak Street. The driver remained and cooperated with police. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

4:15pm--Firefighters are on the scene of a structure fire at 685 Sucess Avenue, the Success Hill Condominium with heavy fire showing in the attic. About 40 minutes later firefighters said they were still fighting a fire in the cockloft area. EMS reported that one adult and one child jumped from the second floor to escape the flames. Bridgeport Fire was also dispatched but staged to assist Stratford Firefighters. Bridgeport Animal Control was called to assist Stratford Animal Control with at least 8 animals rescued from the complex, they expect a couple of cat/dog fatalities inside the complex.
