Stratford News: Stabbing Arrest

5/26/2018--#Stratford CT--Ashley Jackson age 26 of Bridgeport was arrested following an assault at the Quality Inn located at 1500 South Avenue in Stratford. The altercation involved Jackson and another female who attended a party at the location. During the fight, Jackson stabbed the victim several times in the neck and chest with a knife. The victim was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and is in stable condition. Jackson who also sustained minor injuries was treated at Bridgeport Hospital after surrendering to officers. Jackson was charged Criminal Attempt at Murder and Assault in the First Degree. She was held on a $250,000 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 06-08-2018. Shelton News: Partial Building Collapse

On 5-29-18 at approximately 12:20pm, Shelton Police and Fire were dispatched to 281 Canal St on a report of a partial building collapse. A section of the rear of the building collapsed and fell into the river. Nobody was inside the building at the time of the collapse. The Fire Marshal and the Shelton Building Inspector arrived on scene and are evaluating the building. DEEP was also notified. Fairfield News: Bomb Scare On Mill Plain Road

#Fairfield CT--Just after 11am, a resident in the Mill Plain Road area observed a car pull over, take the plates off the car and flee on foot. When police arrived they found no plates on the car so the ran the vehicle identification number and the numbers did not come back to any particular vehicle. The looked in the glove box for any type of paperwork when the noticed a Tupperware type container with wires or a knob coming out of it. Wires were also seen coming out from under the dashboard. Stratford News: Firefighters Battle A Multi-Family Home Fire

12:34am--#Stratford CT-- A fire had a significant head start before firefighters arrived at a fire in a three-family home at 361,3 and 5 Canaan Road tonight. Witnesses who attempted to fight the fire with hand-held fire extinguishers said they believe the fire allegedly started from a charcoal grill that was too close to the vinyl siding and spread up the back side of the building. Everyone was able to make it out safely including a family's cat. Firefighters made significant progress in battling the fire but like the fire on Kelsey Street in Bridgeport significant black smoke could be seen spewing from the attic.
