12:34pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A homeowner on Sheridan Street said a man in a blue Ford Explorer threw a brick in the window of his house. Police locate the driver at Boston and Sheridan. He attempted to take off on police but crashed on Orange Street and then attempted to flee on foot. Cops catch him on Central Avenue.
UPDATE: Possibly happened on Goddard Street. Expect police activity in the area.
11:43pm—#Bridgeport Connecticut– A stabbing victim just showed up at Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle. Initial reports say he was stabbed in the rib area. No word on where in town the stabbing took place.
I’m losing count of all the stabbing victims this week. 5 or 6?
11:21pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– St. Vincent’s Hospital at 2800 Main Street called police that a pit bull walked through their open emergency doors and into the emergency room. They have him contained.
7:51pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Police are investigating a stabbing outside Quickie’s Market at 165 Washington Avenue. The man was stabbed in the chest.
#Bridgeport Connecticut–On February 24, 2017 Michael Watkins (7/15/90) was shot and killed in front of 438 Berkshire Avenue. Detectives were able to establish that the perpetrator, identified as Jovanne Brown (1/26/96), shot Watkins multiple times. During the course of an altercation, Watkins who had a pistol permit, fired at Brown, striking him in the chest. Brown was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for treatment. Brown initially lied to investigators regarding how and where he was shot, but later confessed to Detectives that he shot Watkins. Brown was arrested on February 25, 2017 and charged with felony murder, robbery and weapons offenses. Bond is $1,000,000. The quick arrest in this case would not be possible without the dedication to service by the BPD Homicide Unit, assisted by Detective Lariccia and supervised by Lieutenant LaMaine.
4:10pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– The shots fire on East Washington Avenue you will hear will be a 21 gun salute at Luz De Paz Funeral Home at 426 East Washington Avenue.
3:34pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A dead body has been found under the viaduct on Kossuth Street between the dog track and Stratford Avenue. Police and detectives are on scene investigating.
10:52am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– #cttraffic–A crash on I-95 southbound at exit 28 has traffic backed up into Stratford. No word on injuries. Detour if you can!
#Bridgeport Connecticut– As we were first to report, on February 24 at 9:25pm EMS responded to 438 Berkshire Avenue on a report of a man down. Upon examination EMS determined the male victim Michael “Shane” Watkins was shot and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead from the gunshot wounds. At the same time a gunshot victim arrived at St. Vincent’s Hospital, a man shot in the chest. He is expected to survive. Detectives are determining if the shootings are connected. Unconfirmed reports say detectives made an arrest on Old Town Road of a suspect in Williams’s homicide.
10:02pm–#Westport Connecticut– Report of a 4-5 car rollover accident on I-95 northbound near exit 17-18 near Hales Court overpass. There are cars scatter across a quarter mile in the area. Extrication will be needed for the rollover according to radio reports.
