Dear Parents of Fairfield Warde High School:
I am writing you to address what has recently been publicized about our graphic arts teacher,Mr. Iwanicki. As you have likely heard, Mr. Iwanicki was recently arrested by the Fairfield Police
Department. Prior to the arrest and immediately upon hearing of the allegations before thearrest, Mr. Iwanicki was placed on administrative leave. He will continue to be on administrative
leave and out of the classroom until the investigation is concluded.As this is an ongoing matter, we must allow the legal process to unfold without conjecture or interference. Moreover, because this situation involves a sensitive personnel matter relating to an employee, we are unable to share additional details with you at this time. However, we can certainly understand your concerns over this situation and therefore want to provide you with this information at this time. We will provide you with more information in the future if we are able to do so.
Our support staff is prepared and available to meet with any student who is having difficulty processing this information. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. How we collectively respond in challenging times defines who we are, and at Warde we have a long history of pulling together when we need each other the most. 12:17pm–A woman on Platt Street was assaulted by 3 males and woman then had her car stolen. Now it is reported that car hit a car at the Citgo Station at 911 Reservoir Avenue. Police are investigating.

Bridgeport News: 16 Year Old Shot
9:33pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–2133 hours, a shooting incident occurred in front of 177 Denver Avenue, Bridgeport. Multiple shots were fired by an unknown assailant, and a 16 year old male victim was struck in the back by this gunfire. The victim was transported by medics to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, and is in serious condition at this time. Detectives are at the incident location, and the Detective Bureau Identification Unit will process the crime scene. Any citizen with information about this crime is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department confidential tips line at 203-576-TIPS (8477)

Bridgeport News: Large Rubbish Fire
9:34pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Firefighters were called to 198 Calhoun Avenue for a rubbish fire in the back of the structure. The fire spread to adjoining containers of the multi-family home. There was also a car dealer with cars parked near the fence on Lexington Avenue that did received minor damage. Firefighters quick response as well as calling for additional resources prevented the fire from extending into the house. There were no reported injuries.
Fairfield News: Teacher Arrested At Warde High School

The Fairfield Public schools was recently notified that a member of its staff at Fairfield Warde High School was arrested on January 16, 2017. At the time of the arrest, the employee was not at school or in contact with students. Immediately after school officials learned of the allegations approximately one month ago, the employee was placed on an administrative leave of absence pending an investigation. This action enabled the school district to ensure the safety of its students while also reserving immediate judgment on the employee. The employee has not been in contact with students at school since being placed on leave. As this matter is still under investigation, no further details can be provided. If you are a parent having any concerns relating to your child, please contact your child’s School Counselor or Housemaster.
