Police are looking for a black male about 23 years old wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, white scarf covering his face and glasses. He fled on a dark colored scooter down Evers Street towards Broadbridge Ave. Additional two other males according to police radio reports. On Saturday May 9th, 2015 Westport Officers responded to Home Goods on a report of a disturbance. Investigating Officers learned from Home Good employees that two ladies had attempted to steal merchandise from the store by concealing it in an ottoman they had purchased. When confronted by store employees about the theft, the two ladies started an argument and created a disturbance in the store. When Westport Officers were taking one of the ladies into custody for the attempted larceny, she resisted arrest. In addition, the Westport Officers while continuing their investigation learned that the two women had given them false names. The operator of the vehicle did not see any flashes from the firearm, but believed the gunshots came from a white four door sedan, unknown make and model. Upon arrival, Troopers initiated an investigation in which they were able to confirm that the 2015 Toyota Corolla had been struck by multiple projectiles.
