10:25pm--#Bridgeport CT--The new Subway at Barnum Avenue and East Main was just robbed by a man with a mask and spoke with a Haitian accent who walks with a limp. This is similar to the description of the man who robbed the Shell Station the other night.

(Bridgeport, CT – May 22, 2014) – Police arrested a city man in connection with an incident in which he held two people at gunpoint in their home. At 12:30 a.m. today, Officers Ean Smith, David Uliano and Mathew Szymczak responded to 1019 Kossuth St. on an unlawful restraint complaint. Officers spoke with the victims’ son who stated his parents were being held inside by someone armed with a shotgun. Additional units responded and set up a perimeter. At that point, a 69-year-old man emerged from the front of the house. He was determined to be one of the victims and was escorted to safety.…
6:10pm--#Fairfield CT-- First responders have been busy with two back to back crashes. The first was a single vehicle crash into a utility pole at Westport Turnpike at Treasure Road. The second crash happened moments later at New England Avenue at Meadow Street in front of Ganim's Garden Supply between an SUV and a Optimum Installation Truck. The driver of the SUV along with 2 children and one infant were shaken up from the crash. A second ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Witnesses told me the truck crossed New Meadow Street into the SUV which had no stop sign. Police are investigating.

(Bridgeport, CT – May 20, 2014) – Police arrested a woman who was allegedly exposing herself on Park Avenue Monday. Officer Jeffrey Long responded to a shoplifting complaint Monday at 2:19 p.m. He also was informed that the suspect was exposing her breasts to passing motorists and patrons of the Park Avenue business. When Long arrived, Officer Fernando Oquendo had the woman in custody. Police learned that the woman, Sara Cox, 26, had been exposing herself outside the business. She then entered the business and took a beverage without paying. She proceeded back outside and continued to expose herself. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering with police, breach of peace, and criminal mischief.
WASHINGTON, DC—A portion of the Rail Safety Enforcement Act was included in the Transportation-Housing and Urban Development funding bill that passed the House Appropriations Committee today. The legislation was introduced earlier this month by Connecticut Representatives Rosa DeLauro, who serves on the Committee, Jim Himes and Elizabeth Esty, and New York Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. The language directs the Federal Railroad Administration to provide a progress report to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees on the status of railroad compliance with the Positive Train Control (PTC) requirement.
