Bridgeport Detectives Arrest Man With Fake $100 Bills
%Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 16, 2014 – A Brooklyn man was arrested Monday after he attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a store on Maplewood Avenue.Detectives subsequently located eight other fake $100 bills in his vehicle. Detectives David Garcia and Jorge Cintron were at a business on Maplewood Avenue following up on an unrelated investigation when they were alerted that a man was attempting to purchase diapers with a phony $100 bill. They spoke with the man, identified as Charles Rowe, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Rowe told detectives that he was visiting his ailing grandmother in Bridgeport but could not provide additional, definitive information about her or her location.
