Pursuit from Westport to Bridgeport Ends In Flames

Around 12:45 Monday morning State Police started following a Green Jeep headed northbound on I-95 near exit 17. They did not engage in pursuit until clearing traffic in Fairfield. Fairfield Police were called into the pursuit early on and officers were at the ready with spike strips at designated locations. Speeds never exceed 60 miles per hour. Police were successful on their first try with the spike strips and the Jeep got off the highway at exit 22. The driver led police down Grasmere Avenue then to the Circle. Police radios got quiet until the Jeep was on Kings…

On 6/29/14 at 12:33 PM, the Fairfield 911 Center received a report of a boat on fire at “G” dock in the South Benson Marina complex. Additional 911 callers reported multiple boats on fire in the marina. Due to the additional reports and visible black smoke from miles away, additional firefighting units were called to the scene including the Fairfield police and fire department boats and mutual aid from Bridgeport. Westport Police Pursuit/DUI arrest

Just after midnight on 06/27/2014, Officer Simpson attempted to stop a motor vehicle for speeding. The vehicle initially stopped, but as Officer Simpson approached, it took off at a high rate of speed, engaging the officer in pursuit. After turning down a dead end street, the operator fled the vehicle and led the officer on a foot chase through a back yard. The suspect was successfully taken into custody after the use of a taser. The suspect was identified as Thomas Patterson, 41, of Weston, CT. Patterson later refused to submit to a breath test.
