Bridgeport News: Stratford Avenue Homicide Arrest

#Bridgeport CT--This evening, detectives arrested Tivon Taylor (DOB: 10/19/81 of 44 Eric Street, Bridgeport) for fatally shooting Fredrick Shelby on March 18, 2022. Based on the evidence, we believe Taylor followed Shelby out of Tae’s Lounge, a bar located at 1014 Stratford Avenue, after the two men exchanged words inside. Taylor then allegedly shot Shelby multiple times before walking away. In a statement to investigators, Taylor admitted to shooting Shelby. Taylor is charged with Murder, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit. New Agreement Positions Connecticut To Be Production Home for New Helicopter Lines and Keeps Sikorsky’s Headquarters in the State Through 2042

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration has reached an agreement with Lockheed Martin that may bring potential new helicopter lines to Sikorsky’s Stratford facility, sustain more than 7,000 jobs, and keep Sikorsky’s headquarters in Connecticut through 2042. Lockheed Martin, the parent company of Sikorsky, is bidding on helicopter programs that will replace several existing programs, including the legendary Black Hawk. New Haven Line Train Schedule Enhancements

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced that a new schedule will take effect on Sunday, March 27, 2022, on the New Haven Line, operated by Metro-North Railroad. The new schedule will also include additional weekday train service and train time adjustments on the New Canaan Line (NCL). The Danbury Line and Waterbury Line schedules remain unchanged.New Haven Line (NHL) customers will see an increase in weekday train service to approximately 91% of pre-pandemic levels, an increase of 34 trains, bringing the total number of weekday trains to 278 trains. The new schedule includes the restoration of pre-pandemic zoned express trains.
