A task force created last winter and charged with fighting the theft of motor vehicles in Connecticut has recovered more than 150 stolen cars and arrested more than 20 juveniles.   Members of the Multi-City Auto Theft and Urban Violence Task Force have been working tirelessly to fight the rising trend of vehicles taken from the state's suburban and rural communities. Westport, CT – The Westport Weston Health District reminded residents today to be aware of possible scammers posing as COVID-19 contact tracers. The statement said: Beware of Scammers The WWHD is alerting residents to a possible scam taking place in our community by persons posing as COVID contact tracers. Bridgeport News: Securing and Properly Submitting Ballots for August 11th Primary Election

Bridgeport, CT – In an effort to safeguard against the spread of COVID-19, Governor Lamont signed an executive order allowing all registered voters to vote by absentee ballot in the August 11, 2020 primary election.  All City of Bridgeport registered voters were mailed an absentee ballot request form with a postage paid return envelope by Secretary of State Denise Merrill.   If voters choose to cast their ballot by mail, the ballot form must be submitted within the paid returned envelope and mailed via the U.S. Postal Service.  All ballots must be cast and received prior to the 8:00 pm deadline on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest

#Bridgeport CT-- On June 2, 2020 Jonathan Dawson was shot and killed inside a vehicle after he was picked up by Jefton Brown (4/4/95) from his home in Bridgeport. Brown then dumped Dawson’s body on the side of the road in East Lyme, CT. Detectives learned that Brown was driving a rental vehicle at the time of the homicide and that he took extraordinary efforts to repair and clean the vehicle to hide evidence that he killed Dawson. Detectives located this vehicle and retrieved significant evidence from it that was instrumental in charging Brown with Dawson’s murder.
