Experts say we are in for a busy hurricane season this summer and the American Red Cross needs volunteers to help in our community. “The coronavirus pandemic will make it challenging to deploy trained disaster volunteers from other parts of the country should an emergency occur. UPDATE: Tara texted me to tell us there was a pedestrian hit on the highway and it is the southbound side that is closed.   2020-07-28@7:35pm--#Bridgeport CT-- #cttraffic-- I-95 at exit 28 is closed by state police for unknown reasons.  The traffic cams are turned off in that area and nothing mention on any of the radios other than the Bridgeport Fire Department mentioning the closing.  Nothing reported on #cttraffic nor at @CT_STATE_POLICE.  Expect delays if headed that way.   This news report is made possible by:

We've all heard that people are working from home since the COVID pandemic.   And we've heard on individual social media posts that New York is a ghost town on social media.  I didn't realize quite how many are either not working or working from home when I drove to the train station at downtown Fairfield.  This photo was taken at ten minutes afternoon on a Tuesday.  This place would normally be packed with cars as well as cars parked on the side streets.   This put things into perspective for me.  I'm sure if you commute from here you are as shocked as I.

Westport News: Assault 3 rd Degree- Disorderly Conduct

#Westport CT--At approximately 10:33 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2020, officers responded to a Westport residence on a report of a disturbance between two individuals. Officers spoke with both of the involved parties, one of whom alleged that during the course of what had begun as a verbal argument she had been physically assaulted by Jason Guu. She sustained minor injuries as a result. In speaking with Guu, he agreed that there had been a verbal argument, but denied that there had been a physical assault. Based on the investigation, Guu was taken into custody. He was charged with 53a-61 Assault 3 rd Degree and 53a-182(a)(1) Disorderly Conduct. He was released on a written promise to appear.
