Former Trumbull Teacher Charged With Risk of Injury to a Child

A former Madison Middle School teacher was arrested on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and charged with Risk of Injury to a Child, after investigation found that he had exchanged inappropriate text messages with a 13-year-old male student. Ryan LaSella, age 34, of Milford, CT, turned himself in at the Trumbull Police Department when he was notified of an active warrant for his arrest. The arrest resulted from an investigation that began in March of 2026, when the Trumbull Police School Resource Officer was notified of the complaint by Trumbull School administrators. Trumbull Police Arrest Suspect in $900,000 Gold Coin Fraud Scheme

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, members of the Trumbull Police Department Detective Bureau, Crime Suppression Unit, and the Bridgeport Police Task Force arrested Tushar Sharma, 23, of India, currently residing in Arcadia, California, following an investigation into a fraud scheme targeting a Trumbull resident. The investigation began after the victim reported receiving a Microsoft Windows pop-up message in March 2026. The victim contacted the telephone number associated with the message and was connected with an individual claiming to be a Federal Trade Commission agent. Bridgeport Man Accused of Attempted Murder Returned After Border Arrest

A city man who was captured at the Canadian border after attempting to shoot and kill his ex-wife on the East End in December was brought back to Bridgeport Wednesday.  Joao Victor Borges-DeQueiroz, 33, of Bridgeport was arraigned in front of Judge Charles Stango at Bridgeport Superior Court on charges that included Criminal Attempt Murder, Criminal Attempt Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Restraint in the First Degree, Stalking in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Carrying Pistol Without a Permit.
