TWO ANSONIA MEN ARRESTED IN GATISON PARK PLAYGROUND ARSON ANSONIA, CT — October 7, 2026 — The Ansonia Police Department has arrested two Ansonia residents in connection with the October 3, 2026, arson that destroyed the playground at Gatison Park. On October 3, 2026, at approximately 3:29 a.m., officers of the Ansonia Police Department and the Ansonia Fire Department were dispatched to Gatison Park, located in the area of Third Street and Fourth Street, for a report of a possible structure fire. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the playground/playscape and the rubber safety matting beneath it were completely engulfed in flames. Warning Against After-Hours Compo Beach Gatherings

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, at approximately 2:40am, the Westport Police Department received a complaint of a stolen motor vehicle from the Westport Saugatuck Railroad Station. The victim explained that he had parked the Jeep at approximately 6:15pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, and returned to the lot to find it missing. He further reported that after locking the vehicle he had hidden the ignition key within the exterior mounted spare tire. On the afternoon of Thursday, June 11, 2026, Bridgeport Police recovered the vehicle on Fairfield Avenue within their city. It was unoccupied at the time of recovery. Suspect Arrested Following City Hall Restroom Recording

On August 17, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Norwalk Patrol Officers were dispatched to Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, following a report of a suspicious person. Norwalk Combined Dispatch advised responding officers that a male suspect had entered a women’s restroom, used a cell phone to record an individual inside, and then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported that while inside a stall in the women’s restroom, an individual held a cell phone underneath the stall and appeared to be recording. The suspect then fled the area. Responding officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.
