Early Morning Fatal Accident

On November 4, 2026, at 4:07 AM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident involving a scooter near 650 West Avenue. Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire Department, and Norwalk Hospital Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene and began providing medical aid to the scooter operator, 46-year-old Christopher Moorer of Norwalk. Moorer was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Norwalk Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit and Identification Unit responded to process the scene and assume the investigation. The investigation remains active. BPD FIND NO CONNECTION IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOTS FIRED

The Bridgeport Police Department on Thursday reported it found no connection between two separate incidents of gunfire that left an apartment window damaged in each. Both incidents occurred between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Wednesday night. Police recovered 49 shell casings of various calibers at the rear driveway of the Greene Homes public housing complex near Building One. A 55-year-old woman in an apartment in that building was injured by shattered glass when a bullet struck a window. She refused medical treatment. Man Arrested Following Series of Prowler Complaints

On Monday, October 19, 2026, Norwalk Police Detectives arrested Frank Williams, 40, of Norwalk following a lengthy investigation into a series of prowler complaints at 8 Oakwood Avenue. Since July 14, 2026, Norwalk patrol officers have responded to 8 Oakwood Avenue on seven occasions for reports of suspicious activity. During the investigations, residents reported seeing an unknown male walking along the rear balconies of the condominium complex and looking into condos. The incidents primarily occurred in the evening and overnight. Patrol officers conducted proactive patrols while detectives continued the investigation. Suspect Arrested Following City Hall Restroom Recording

On August 17, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Norwalk Patrol Officers were dispatched to Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, following a report of a suspicious person. Norwalk Combined Dispatch advised responding officers that a male suspect had entered a women’s restroom, used a cell phone to record an individual inside, and then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported that while inside a stall in the women’s restroom, an individual held a cell phone underneath the stall and appeared to be recording. WESTPORT, CT — Following yesterday’s significant flooding throughout Westport, Town crews continue working to evaluate roads, drainage systems, public infrastructure and other affected areas. Residents may continue to encounter standing water, debris, and other impacts as cleanup and inspections proceed. The Bridgeport Police Department responded to approximately 100 flood-related calls during a period of five hours Sunday morning after heavy rains rapidly inundated the entire city. Many of the calls were for stranded vehicles in flooded intersections, after motorists attempted to drive through the water. Numerous drivers abandoned their vehicles that were disabled by flooding in dangerous places in the road. Those vehicles had to be towed. On March 19, 2025, at approximately 9:42 a.m., the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received multiple calls reporting a pedestrian had been struck at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street. American Medical Response, Bridgeport Fire Engine 7, and Bridgeport Police Officers were dispatched to the location. Officers were advised that the responsible SUV had fled the scene. Upon arrival, Bridgeport Police Officers observed a female pedestrian lying face down in the eastbound lane at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street.
