GOVERNOR LAMONT ANNOUNCES FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE REDEVELOPMENT OF 12 UNUSED, BLIGHTED PROPERTIES

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont announced today that his administration is releasing $15.2 million in state funding to support assessment and remediation activities at 12 blighted properties across Connecticut, helping cover the costs of cleaning up these unused, polluted parcels so they can be redeveloped and returned to productive use, including for the creation of new housing and other economic development and job growth opportunities. The grants are being distributed through the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development’s (DECD) Brownfield Remediation and Development Program. Aquarion Announces Mandatory Watering Schedule Through October

Aquarion Announces Annual Water Conservation Schedule Mandatory Twice-Weekly Sprinkler Irrigation Schedule in Effect through October 31 Aquarion Water Company today announced the start of its 2026 sprinkler irrigation schedule, which continues until October 31. The program is mandatory for Aquarion customers in Bethel, Darien, Easton, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Newtown, Ridgefield, Stamford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport, and Wilton. For 2026, the towns/cities of Bridgeport, Monroe, Redding, Shelton, and Stratford have been added. The program helps conserve water supplies by reducing overwatering of lawns and gardens through a maximum of two watering days per week. Bridgeport Detectives Arrest Shelton Woman for Threatening Letters

  (Bridgeport, CT – Feb 26, 2013) – A Shelton woman faces multiple counts of threatening after she sent letters containing a suspicious substance to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center.D etective David Garcia led the investigation.  He and Lt. Chris Lamaine arrested Theresa Burden, 37, of 71 Sachem Drive in Shelton, today  for four counts of first-degree threatening.  She was held on $50,000 bond. Burden is a student of the St. Vincent’s School of Nursing, and the charges stem from threatening letters containing a suspicious substance that have been sent to the hospital commencing on Dec. 12, 2012.
