2:11pm–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters battled a very large fire at the corner of Fifth Street and Stratford Avenue this afternoon.  Witnesses tell me there was a loud pop before the fire broke out.  Firefighters searched the building twice before the blaze got really big and found the everyone got out of the building safely.  They had the fire under control within an hour and was picking up their equipment by 3:45pm.  There were no injuries fighting the fire.  Stratford and Fairfield provided mutual aid to Bridgeport to cover empty firehouses.  It was needed when there was a gas leak on Worth Street at 3:39pm.  The fire marshal is on scene investigating.
