12:00pm ish–#Fairfield CT–Just before noon a routine traffic stop became anything but routine as the officer called for firefighters to Kings Highway East near Villa Avenue to help identify the package in the trunk of the car. Concerned with a radioactive sticker firefighters and police called in the state police and FBI. The package tuned out to be a device for determining soil depths. The driver did not know what the device was, he had borrowed the car from his brother. The brother was brought to the scene who produced paperwork of the device’s legitimacy and that it was no danger to the public.
