A task force created last winter and charged with fighting the theft of motor vehicles in Connecticut has recovered more than 150 stolen cars and arrested more than 20 juveniles. Members of the Multi-City Auto Theft and Urban Violence Task Force have been working tirelessly to fight the rising trend of vehicles taken from the state's suburban and rural communities. The task force is composed of detectives from the following agencies: Connecticut State Police, Bridgeport Police, Hartford Police, and Waterbury Police. The statement said: Beware of Scammers The WWHD is alerting residents to a possible scam taking place in our community by persons posing as COVID contact tracers. The imposters/scammers claimed to work on behalf of the sheriff’s office or the local health department and needed to load contact tracing software onto the victim’s computer. Do not fall victim to these scammers. Bridgeport News: Securing and Properly Submitting Ballots for August 11th Primary Election
Bridgeport, CT – In an effort to safeguard against the spread of COVID-19, Governor Lamont signed an executive order allowing all registered voters to vote by absentee ballot in the August 11, 2020 primary election. All City of Bridgeport registered voters were mailed an absentee ballot request form with a postage paid return envelope by Secretary of State Denise Merrill. If voters choose to cast their ballot by mail, the ballot form must be submitted within the paid returned envelope and mailed via the U.S. Postal Service. All ballots must be cast and received prior to the 8:00 pm deadline on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest
#Bridgeport CT-- On June 2, 2020 Jonathan Dawson was shot and killed inside a vehicle after he was picked up by Jefton Brown (4/4/95) from his home in Bridgeport. Brown then dumped Dawson’s body on the side of the road in East Lyme, CT. Detectives learned that Brown was driving a rental vehicle at the time of the homicide and that he took extraordinary efforts to repair and clean the vehicle to hide evidence that he killed Dawson. Detectives located this vehicle and retrieved significant evidence from it that was instrumental in charging Brown with Dawson’s murder. Bridgeport Police also received assistance from the FBI that helped establish probable cause to charge Brown. Detectives learned that Brown had fled the…

#Bridgeport CT-- On July 16, 2020 at approximately 3:36pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers and Bridgeport Firefighters responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Center Street (CAR VS MOTORCYCLE). A 25-year-old Bridgeport man was traveling west on Washington Avenue operating a 2011 black Suzuki GSR 750 motorcycle. As the motorcycle approached the intersection of Washington Avenue and Center Street, a Bridgeport man, operating a 2008 blue Nissan Quest was traveling south on Center Street. As the Nissan Quest travelled onto Washington Avenue, the car and motorcycle collided. The Nissan came to a stop on Washington Avenue just east of the intersection. Bridgeport News: Truck Fire Extends To Building
2020-07-16@3:44pm--#Bridgeport CT-- #ctfire-- firefighters were called at first for a tractor-trailer fire on Wordin Avenue turned out to be a dump-truck fire that extended to the roof of the building in the 100 block of Wordin Avenue. Firefighters had three hose lines in operation in addition to aerial ladder truck as the fire extended to the building and on the roof.
