Fairfield News: Health Department Update On Contaminated Soil

As part of the Town's continuing efforts to keep residents informed and updated on the safety of our parks, school grounds and fields, the Health Department is issuing the following update: Remediation is underway at Gould Manor Park.  This work should be completed this week.  Plans are being finalized for remediation at Burroughs Field. The next round of testing for sites that received aggregate fill will begin later this week. The State Department of Public Health has provided the Town with guidance and recommendations based upon a recreational standard for exposure to soils. Norwalk News: Power Surge

2019-10-22@11:19pm--#Norwalk CT-- Firefighters called to 1 and 45 Glover Avenue for activated fire alarms.  1 Glover Avenue's generator was running on firefighters arrival.  No smoke or fire at either location.  Firefighters said witnesses reported an explosion heard in the area.   A surge is speculated.   This news report is made possible by:

Bridgeport News: Dog Fine, K-9 Officer On The Mend

2019-10-20@10:28pm--#Bridgeport CT-- On Sunday, I was the first to report that K-9 Officer Marie Cetti was involved in a crash at State and Wordin Avenue.  The crash actually happened a block earlier at Yale and State Street.  The accident report said the driver of the car did not stop at the stop sign and struck the police car, video of the incident was captured on city cameras.   Many of you asked the condition of the dog which I did not find out until today.  On Monday I had requested the police spokesperson Terron Jones for further information.  When I was on scene as you can see the the photo, the officer was in the stretcher.  The officer was not…

Bridgeport Pursuit Ends In Fairfield

2019-10-22@3:36pm-- #Bridgeport CT-- #Fairfield CT-- A car failing to pull over for a Bridgeport narcotics officer engaged the officer into a  pursuit that ended in Fairfield.  The driver pulled into the medical building at 75 Kings Highway Cutoff (next to Staples)  He then ran across the street on foot towards the Best Western Motel on Kings Highway and engaged officers in a foot pursuit.  He ran onto I-95 where officers apprehended him.
