Fairfield News: Rental Scam

#Fairfield CT-- The Fairfield Police Department is investigating two complaints involving the same rental property on Euclid Ave in Fairfield.  Two families dealt with the same individual, described as a bald, light/tan skinned male, approximately 6’ tall, with an average build, and short brown hair. who identified himself as “Daniel Ortega” maybe an alias.  He operates a silver sedan, possibly a Nissan.  The male made contact with the victims after going into two separate bodega style markets in Bridgeport.  The male inquired about hanging up a flier up for a rental property in Fairfield. Attorney General William Tong issued a statement today in support of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s proposal to levy a $30 million total civil penalty against Eversource for its failure to meet its obligations to ratepayers in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias. “Eversource failed its customers and put Connecticut families at risk after Tropical Storm Isaias. I fought for swift, severe penalties from the beginning, and this $30 million penalty is appropriate. Man Jumps From Train To His Death

The MTA Police are investigating a report that a 45-year-old male left a westbound Metro-North train at approximately 11:27 a.m. as the train was traveling between Westport and EastNorwalk. The individual was pronounced deceased.Metro-North service is suspended between South Norwalk and Southport. The train, carrying 150 passengers, was the scheduled 10:38 a.m. departure from New Haven,due into Grand Central at 12:50 p.m. As of 12:45 p.m., those customers have been transferredto another train. Bridgeport News: Person Shot

#Bridgeport CT-- On May 4, 2021 at approximately 12:02AM Bridgeport Police responded to the 500 block of Capitol Avenue on the report of a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs.  This incident occurred within the 500 block of Capitol Avenue, in a driveway parking area, as the victim was seated inside his parked car. The victim was transported by AMR Ambulance to an area hospital where he’s listed in stable condition.  It was confirmed the victim was shot twice, once in each leg.  2 male suspects, wearing all black clothing and masks, were last seen running down the driveway and into the street.  The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Alexander Rivera-Garcia of Bridgeport Connecticut.
