Bridgeport News: 1 Firefighter Injured During Industrial Fire

Bridgeport UPDATE: At 1412hrs the City of Bridgeport ECC received a 911 call regarding a fire on the 2nd floor of the Wheelabrator Bridgeport Resco trash to power plant located at 6 Howard Avenue. BFD, AMR and BPD all were dispatched. BFD reported from the scene that there were fires in two hoppers. The BFD attacked the fire from the interior by opening inspection holes to extinguish. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a possible burn while fighting the fire. Bridgeport News: Valley Avenue Shooting

Police UPDATE: On October 11th, 2021, a 16-year-old male Nigel Powell sustained a fatal gunshot wound while inside a residence on Valley Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  The incident was initially reported as a self-inflicted gunshot wound, however during the course of the investigation, and through multiple witness interviews, it was determined the gun was fired by another juvenile male.   On October 18th, 2021, Detectives with the Bridgeport Police Department secured an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old male responsible for the fatal gunshot.  The 16-year-old male turned himself in to the Bridgeport Police Department this evening and was served with the arrest warrant.  The name of the responsible male is being withheld at this time due to him being a juvenile.  The…

Only in Bridgeport do they say read the tweets but but block from reading them. Mayor Ganim you've got some serious problems in the ECC and they are making a mockery of your administration. You need to make some changes or it implies you endorse the incompetency.

2021-10-08@4:11pm--Ryan Nolan was issued a Misdemeanor Summons (#MC689890) with a Bridgeport Superior Court appearance date of 10/22/2021 for Assault 3rd, CGS 53a-61 and Breach of Peace 2nd, CGS 53a-181, after being involved in a physical altercation with another male at CVS, 961 Black Rock Turnpike. STRATFORD WINS STATE GRANT TO ASSESS RENOVATION NEEDS

AT HISTORIC BUILDING   STRATFORD — Mayor Laura R. Hoydick recently announced that the State Historic Preservation Office awarded a $20,000 Survey and Planning Grant to the Town of Stratford to professionally assess renovation needs at the historic Sterling Homestead that the Town acquired earlier this year.  The Sterling Homestead, the white house at 2225 Main Street, is now part of a municipal campus that includes the Sterling House Community Center, Stratford Library, the Baldwin Center, and the historic William Perry House.
