Milford News: Arson Arrest

2022-05-22--#Milford CT--On Sunday, May 22, 2022, the Milford Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to 264 High Street on the report of a vehicle fire. A fire was observed to include the engine block, hood, front bumper, tires, and front fender of the vehicle. The fire was extinguished by Milford Fire Department who advised the fire appeared suspicious because it started outside of the vehicle. Milford Police Detectives responded to continue the investigation. Video surveillance showed a male suspect wearing a mask and carrying a water bottle approach the vehicle. Westport News: Fatal Accident Closes Roadway

2022-05-23@4:20 p.m. today, Westport’s police department, fire department, and emergency medical services responded to the area of 294 Saugatuck Avenue on a report of a car accident. The first personnel to arrive, observed that two cars collided causing extensive damage to both. There was only one person in each of the two vehicles and both sustained injuries. The individual in one of the cars was conscious and able to speak with emergency responders. That person was extricated by firefighters and transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the other car was unresponsive and did not have a pulse. Delayed Opening for Areas Immersed with Ticks announced by City Health Department and Parks and Recreation Department

Bridgeport, CT – The Health Department and the Department of Parks and Recreation announced this afternoon that the West Beach and Barnum Blvd Area would be closed for three hours on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tick management spraying is being carried out by the department and the hired contractor, All Habitat Services, along the lower hillside of the Seaside Park Landfill along Barnum Boulevard. The Seaside Park West Beach entrance will be closed to the public until 11 a.m., after which it will be reopened to provide access to that broad region of the park.
