I-95 Fatality

On February 25, 2024, around 0125 hours, Troop G responded to a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 95 south in West Haven. The collision involved a wrong-way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a southbound Nissan Altima in the left lane. After the impact, the Chevrolet Silverado entered the center lane and collided with a southbound Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado and the three occupants of the Nissan Altima suffered fatal injuries. The two occupants of the Nissan Sentra sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Bridgeport News: Strong Armed Robber Apprehended After Pursuit

2024-02-24@11:20AMish-- #Bridgeport CT--POLICE UPDATE:At 11:16 in the morning, Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received a report about a woman who had experienced a strong-arm robbery and suffered facial injuries that were not life-threatening. When Patrol Officers arrived, the person responsible was not on the scene. A broadcast was sent out to locate the suspect. The perpetrator attempted to escape from the patrol units but eventually stopped near Grand Street and Madison Avenue. A foot chase ensued, and the suspect was apprehended shortly after. Emergency services (AMR and FD) were dispatched to the scene because of a motor vehicle accident. A suspect wanted in a robbery was apprehended by police at North and Madison Avenue after a pursuit.

Mayor Ganim Announces Rehabilitation of the AT&T Building Paired with New Housing Development

Mayor Ganim announced that Pillar Properties led by principal Kuimarz Geula will undergo a major rehabilitation of the AT&T building located in downtown Bridgeport as well as construct a new housing development on the adjacent parcel. The AT&T building located at 430 John Street will be reconstructed into mixed-use development including mixed-income housing and the city’s first rooftop restaurant. Behind the AT&T building will stand the newly constructed housing development at 455 Fairfield Ave known as the “Fairfield Residences.” In total, these two developments will contain 137 units of market-rate and affordable housing.
