His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Man Shot Downtown….Again

#Bridgpoert CT--2:03am-- Just after 2am police received numerous calls for shots fired in the downtown area near Broad and State Street.  They received reports of a person allegedly shot outside of McLevy Green and  Tiago's Bar and Grill at 211 State Street.  Police quickly arrived on the scene but found no one shot.  A minute later Bridgeport Police received a call from Bridgeport Hospital with a person with a  gunshot wound.  Police did find shell casing at the intersection of State and Broad Street and they were interviewing witnesses outside the bar.  The extent of injuries of the person shot is not known at this time.  According to radio reports, the employees of Tiago's were cleared to go home by detectives…

Westport, CT -- Director of Human Services Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, January 10, 2019, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. followed by an intermediate class in PowerPoint 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities. Congratulations to the November 2018 Officers of the Month, Officers Anthony del Pino, Andrew Roncinske and James Barron.  On November 4, 2018, these Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team Officers observed a male with a suspicious bulge in his waistband. Suspecting the male was in possession of a firearm, Officers approached the male, who began to run away. Officers were able to catch the male and recover a loaded .357 handgun from his waistband.  The arrest of this armed felon likely prevented future crimes.

Bridgeport Shelton To Get $ To Revitalize

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that $3.6 million in state funding is being awarded to eleven projects in eight Connecticut municipalities to assess, remediate and revitalize blighted properties in their communities – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use.  These projects encompass 59 acres of redevelopment.   Bridgeport: $600,000 to Park City Communities for the abatement, demolition, and remediation of Marina Village located at 400 Iranistan Avenue to prepare the site for creation of 150 mixed-income residential units as part of Phase 3 of the Marina Village project.
