DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, more than 400 volunteers will join in service for St. Vincent’s fourth annual Medical Mission at Home - providing FREE medical care to those in our community who need it most. The event will be at Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport from 9 am to 3 pm. Free services for adults will include medical exams, vaccinations, podiatry services, haircuts, and more. 4:10pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A car and a school bus collided at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Arcadia Avenue. There were twelve elementary school children on the bus. I counted three children taken to the hospital by EMS and about 4 to 5 children picked up by parents who drove to the scene. The remaining children were driven home by another bus brought the scene by the bus company. This morning 12 students were injured in a school bus accident in Trumbull.

Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Killed on Route 8/25

8:49pm--UPDATE: I'm sad to report this was a fatality.  The pedestrian was found between the north and southbound median by state police.  Expect delays in the area as police conduct the investigation.  Police are looking for a tri-axel construction style pick-up truck in the crash.   8:09pm--#Bridgeport CT--#cttraffic-- Police are investigating a possibility of a pedestrian being hit on Route 8/25 northbound near exit 5 possibly by a pickup construction truck.  Expect delays in the area.

Trumbull News: Children Injured In School Bus Accident

#Trumbull CT--Trumbull Police were on the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Churchill Road (Rt 127) at the intersection of Middlebrooks Avenue, the collision involved a school bus carrying children and a car. Police received 911 calls reporting the accident at 8:27 a.m. The collision involved a school bus transporting children to Middlebrooks Elementary School nearby. Twelve (12) students who were on the school bus received minor injuries from the crash and were transported to local hospitals for observation. The Trumbull Board of Education has been notifying the parents of those twelve children. All other students on the bus and the driver were not hurt.
