11:11am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--It wasn't Cecil Young and the City Council going at it this time but Bridgeport's own Jay "Ice" Piccirillo going at it during a contract signing with Jersey's Colossus. Colossus has threatened the city with destruction if he defeats the Ice Man on Saturday, May 14th at the Shehan Center. I suggested to the mayor maybe there could be some FEMA funds available but Mayor Ganim is confident Jay "Ice" will take care of him. The Jimmy's Original Hip Hop is closing it's doors. Located next door to Burger King on Upper Main Street, the man at the counter told me they are closing their doors at the end of the month. I didn't realize the end of the month is today, the store was still full of clothes so I'm guessing he meant the end of May. He said this isn't a going out business sale that a lot of businesses frequently have but a store closing.
#Trumbull Connecticut--The Trumbull Police Department and Westfield Trumbull hosted the Annual Public Safety Day Saturday. Highlights of Public Safety Day include: a helicopter landing demonstration Connecticut State Police crash rollover simulator; police cars, ambulances, fire trucks; and a variety of emergency equipment on display for families to enjoy. This was Trumbull Police Cadet Captain Ian Maloney's Eagle Scout Project in 2014 which continues to present first responder's and their equipment to the public in a family fun atmosphere.
