In an average year, Safe House provides nearly 5,000 bed-nights of shelter to adults and children fleeing from domestic violence at home. But since the pandemic, they have been operating beyond full capacity, In fact, the overflow strain has required a 4,300% increase in hotel bed-nights provided vs. the same period last year!

#Stratford CT-- On 04/26/2022 the Stratford Police with the assistance of the Connecticut StatePolice conducted part of an ongoing investigation which led officers to the area ofShort Beach to investigate suspicious or hazardous materials. This activity waspart of a larger in progress investigation. At this time the beach is clear of policeactivity. Investigators anticipate an arrest in the incident and no further information isavailable at this time. There is no threat to the public.
