His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Firefighters Investigate Smoke Inside Shop Rite

2021-03-18@9:30PMish--#Fairfield CT-- #ctfire-- Employees at Shop Rite at 1975 Black Rock Turnpike called the fire department for smoke coming out of a ventilation vent. Firefighters immediately went to the roof but were not able to immediately find the source of the fire. The store was evacuated. Rite Aid is expanding into a former jewelry store where the haze was found. Assistant Fire Chief Erik Kalapir said the cause of the smoke was an air handler on the roof. There were no injuries. Fairfield News: Family Of 5 Hit Crossing Black Rock Turnpike

Fairfield Police UPDATE: Fairfield- On 3/18/21 at 1:10 PM Fairfield Police received several 911 calls about a group of pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike and Stillson Road. Responding officers discovered that five pedestrians were attempting to cross Black Rock Turnpike at the intersection of Stillson Road. Four of the pedestrians (2 adult women along with a 12yo & 4yo) were struck in the crosswalk by a car turning left (north bound) onto Black Rock Turnpike from Stillson Road. The operator of the striking car stopped and remained on scene. UPDATE: Two firefighters were injured, one transported to the hospital for unknown injuries. 2021-03-18@10:18pm-- Firefighters were dispatched to Academy Road for a structure fire. They found the house fully engulfed in flames. Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation. After a while the firefighters were evacuated from the home for a defensive operation. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the blaze.
